The XE-8000 is connected to an opacity sensor fitted to the chimney to monitor smoke levels. Using SMS technology, the data is sent to the Advanced Information Networks’ website. The data is available for download from the website by authorised staff, who can check levels as often as required. Each day the website generates a brief email report that is sent to the plant manager. If the levels exceed a user defined point, key staff are alerted on their mobile phones.

The data is logged to the web and to the internal memory of the XE-8000, offering a high level of data redundancy by providing a data mirror in two different physical locations. The factory management team can use the data to satisfy their compliance and reporting requirements.
