The XE-8000 enables monitoring of the reservoir. Installed at the reservoir site and powered by solar panels, the XE-8000 is configured to measure water levels. If the level drops below a user defined point, all users of the reservoir are notified to this fact with text messages to their mobile phones.
Furthermore, farmers, local government and others in the community can query the water level at any time from their mobile phones. The data-logging functionality of the XE-8000 allows local government to monitor seasonal water levels, to improve risk management and aid long term planning.
