Monitors a maximum of ten Servers.
Monitors web sites to make sure they are running (HTTP).
Monitors Mail Servers, DNS Servers, and other PCs, etc using PING.
Monitors Hard Disk space on the machine that the software is running on.
Sends SMS messages to up to 5 people when persistent errors occur.
Sends email messages to up to 5 email addresses when persistent errors occur.
Provides scheduled reports to users by email and SMS.
Creates a log file.
The System State can be queried from a mobile phone.
Invalid SMS messages are forward to all email account. This means that Vodafone Prepay users will get low-credit and message-not-sent messages forwarded to their email account. This also means the system can be used as an SMS to email gateway.
The software will be supplied with a modem, power supply, and antenna. GSM or CDMA versions will be available. GSM users within NZ wanting to run the system on a Vodafone account will need to organise their own SIM card.
The software will be available as an evaluation version. This will not support modem communications, and it will only allow ten events to alert via email before closing. It can be restarted indefinitely.
